Philippine Election: The Battle Of The Politicians

As I scanned the channels on our TV, I found a TV commercial on RJTV against the opposition with a jingle that sounds like this (can’t remember the exact words).. “Gago ang oposisyon, gusto lang sumampa sa posisyon, Gago ang oposisyon, ang lider ay nakakulong.” (The opposition is a fool, just want to get a position, the opposition is a fool, their leader is in jail.) As this jingle plays, they show pictures of the opposition candidates and shows Erap behind bars on the ang-lider-ay-nakakulong part of the jingle. I checked Youtube if there is already an uploaded video about this but I can’t find one. I am just wondering why I haven’t seen this TV commercial on ABS-CBN and GMA 7 yet?

Now, let’s go to Batangas where the fight for governorship is interesting enough to merit my blog post. =) I see that Armando Sanchez has really that much money. I see his face anywhere, even on ABS-CBN commercials (there is ABS-CBN in Batangas that handles localized TV ads). Someone said that even on SM Cinemas, you’ll see an Armando Sanchez campaign ad. On the other hand, Vilma Santos’ posters are all around too, but I haven’t seen her on TV yet. She’s been roaming around the province. My mother even went to Bauan early morning last week just to see Vilma on her campaign sortie there. I haven’t seen Christopher De Leon’s campaign material yet, he’s running for Vice Governor of Batangas, in case you don’t know.

If Vilma Santos and Christopher De Leon both won, I think we’ll have a new City Of The Stars. LOL!
