Windows Defender – Application failed to initialize: 0x800106ba

After booting up my computer, I received the following error:
Windows Defender – Application failed to initialize: 0x800106ba. A problem caused Windows Defender Service to stop. To start the service, restart your computer or search Help and Support on how to start a service manually.
Since the error says start the service manually, I went to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services and look for Windows Defender Service. I found it and it was Disabled. I manually enabled it and this error popped up:
Could not start the Windows Defender Service service on Local Computer. Error 0x80071b90: The system license has expired. Your logon request is denied.
So, it was already obvious. I got the first error because my system license has expired. But it was a free software, isn’t it? I digg deeper on Google and found this article. It seems that I need to download a new version of Windows Defender to be able to continue its use. It was an old error, but I noticed it only today because I’m used to putting my computer on hibernate mode. ![]()
That’s all!
