Google’s Universal Account, Is This Good?

Google is slowly merging all its services to its users under one Google account. You only need one account to sign in for Google Adwords, Google Analytics, Gmail, and even Blogger! And now, they are slowly migrating Google Adsense account to be tied up with the same Google account. Now you’ll have a universal Google account for all Google services. Is this good?

Yuga raised his concern over security, and I agree with him. I like them separated too. I want a different login for Adsense and Adwords, different from Gmail account, Blogger account and Analytics account. Why? Imagine what mess a cracker could do if he was able to crack your account? Everything will be compromised. I can afford losing my Gmail account, it’s easy to make another one, but since it will be tied up to Adsense and Adwords, it’s not that simple anymore. He’ll have ultimate control over your blog, your e-mail, your Adwords campaign and can even see your Adsense earnings.

With this setup, you’ll always have to remind yourself that checking your Gmail in an internet shop is not a good idea anymore, because your Adsense and Adwords account will also be exposed if someone installed a key logger on the PC you are using. So, let’s just be careful and surf the internet with caution.

  1. I agree sir…medyo delikado nga yung isang universal account. Dami pa namang services ng Google that bloggers can use…
