Aside from being a game console and an iPod, you can also play videos on Nintendo DS Lite. All you have to have is the Moonshell application, which usually comes in bundle with an R4DS.
Moonshell can play videos, but not on AVI, WMV, or MPG format. It can only play videos on DPG format. So, all you have to do is to grab a copy of DPG encoder so that you can convert your favorite video to DPG format. Conversion is fast, I’ve converted a 20 minute video in less than 5 minutes. A 1 to 2 minute video will be converted in less than a minute. After converting, copy the DPG file on your microSD and open it using the Moonshell application. The video quality and sound are just like the original.
The DPG encoder can be downloaded anywhere. Just google dpgtools and you can get a list of sites giving you free downloads. No, I’m not linking to any site. Just search and you will find it.

there are lot’s of DPG tols out there.. paano ko malalaman which is which? Saka everytime i open the “multimedia” menu sa DS, me error…”Is the /moonshell folder was moved?”.. /ano ibig sabihin nun? ska di ko rin ma play ung iPOD sa DS. nag-download ako ng IMP-PNG pero di ko naman alam kung san ko ilalagay na folder. Sa root? sa _system_. A little help po. Thanks!! Happy new year!!
