This is a bad news to all boxing afficionados. My father and my brother are looking forward to see this fight this coming weekend. Well, we cannot blame the promoters. How could Marquez fight with swelling hands on the first place?

Here is the news item from the USA Today:

A hand injury to WBC super featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez has forced cancellation of the “Fireworks” HBO Pay-Per-View card scheduled for Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

According to promoters, Marquez, who was to fight Rocky Juarez, cut his right hand and developed an infection, resulting in severe swelling. (More)

Ok, hopefully, Pacquiao or Barrera will not hurt their hands during their training so that we can see their fight this coming October 6.
