Well, that is what I observed recently. I can’t add a a status message that is longer than 40 characters. So, what happened? Is it intentional?
I don’t know. I tried searching the Yahoo! Messenger Help but I can’t find a page stating that they intentionally set the limit to 40 characters. So, if this is not intentional, this could be a bug, or someone just hacked into Yahoo! systems and set the limit to 40 characters?
I already saw people asking about this on Yahoo! Answers and no one got an official answer from Yahoo! yet.
Let’s just wait and see.
Update (October 5, 2007) : This problem is fixed now. Simply restart your Yahoo Messenger and everything should go back to normal.
