The 13th Month Pay

What does an employee has that probloggers don’t have in the Philippines? It’s the 13th month pay. The Philippine government requires it. Employers are required to give 13th month pay to their employees before the year ends. On the other hand, Google will not send you a 13th month check. How I wish they do. Hehehe.

It makes every employee happy. It gives extra budget during the holiday seasons. It gives you no reason not to give something to your inaanak. 🙂

For people like me who doesn’t have an inaanak and doesn’t celebrate the Christmas season (I’m an INC), the 13th month pay is an extra cash to my bank account. Only a portion of it will be used for the New Year and some self-serving shopping, and the rest will just stay on my savings account for future use.

How about you? How do you spend your 13th month pay?

  1. Hmm my 13th month pay has been prorated… haha it’s so small that I can only buy gifts with it. 😀

  2. I’m a Roman Catholic so I do celebrate Christmas. Nevertheless, I saved 50% of my 13th month salary to the bank. 🙂

  3. Ahaha, what 13th month pay???? LOL. Mine’s gone with the blink of an eye. At least it went into good use – pambayad utang 😛 Now I have less debts to worry about.
