Thanks for the post bro. I’m really a skeptic on using a social bookmarking plugin but since many are using it I’m also using it “blindly”. Yeah you are right, it is useless. It also has a link (dofollow) to those bookmarking sites and will drain my PR.

@marhgil – In my case, I keep the social bookmarking buttons or links because I get traffic from StumbleUpon just like ambo.

di ko din ginagamit yung ibang plugins except the social bookmarks plugin. i find it useful especially stumble upon. Stumble upon generate traffic sa blog ko promise hahaha.

Btw, forget about digg, na ban na ako dun hahaha.

@Fitz… the percentage is too small for me to think it’s useful. actually, ako lang din gumagamit noon nung andyan pa yung button sa site ko. tsaka hindi rin naman diggable mga sinusulat ko, kaya wala talagang magsusubmit. hahaha,

i would also have to disagree on the social bookmarking button.

it’s not totally useless… it really gives your visitors a more convenient way to submit your site to their social bookmarks

this is somehow related to having the comment form readily available at the bottom of your posts instead of a comment link, it encourages people to submit one, so if you put a social bookmarking button in your post, readers are more likely to submit it.

unfortunately, i remember reading somewhere (i think it’s in doshdosh) that only a small percentage of readers (<10%) actually use the social bookmark button. i’m too lazy to search for the actual numbers, sorry.

@Jaypee… pansin ko lang kasi dun sa dati kong theme, andun ang mga digg, delicious at kung ano-ano pang button, wala din namang gumagamit, kaya inalis ko na lang. sayang ang link juice na napupunta sa kanila. hehe.

@Amy and Jehzlau… ingat lang sa pagsubmit sa Digg. they might ban you for always submitting your own content.
