Update (August 13, 2012): PAGASA Weather Update on Tropical Storm Helen

A new typhoon is already inside the Philippine area of responsibility. Typhoon Helen is the reason behind the rains we are experiencing right now here in Manila. So, don’t go out without umbrella this week.

Issued at 11:00PM today by PAGASA, here is the list of places with public storm warning signal:

Signal No. 2: Cagayan, Calayan Group of Islands, Isabela

Signal No. 1: Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Abra, Kalinga Apayao, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Nueva Viscaya, Quirino at Aurora.

Snippet of their weather forecast issued 11:00PM today:

Tropical Storm “HELEN” will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and bring rains over the rest of Luzon particularly over the Western Section. Residents in low lying areas and near mountain slopes are advised to take all the necessary precautions against possible flash floods and landslides.

Residents along the coastal areas under Public Storm Signal Number 2 are alerted against big waves generated by this tropical cyclone.

The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 A.M. tomorrow.
