UPDATE (July 8, 2009): Palace clarified that July 27 is a working holiday. (source)

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo just declared July 27 as a non-working holiday, a special holiday called “Iglesia Ni Cristo Day.”
Read more about it here.
This means that I don’t need to file for a leave on that day because I plan to join the Iglesia Ni Cristo Day celebration somewhere here in Manila. If you are an INC, you know where it is. 
To all INC bloggers (some revealed themselves here), I think, that’s the best day to have an EB, right? 
Me and my wife will surely be there! Kita kits na lang dun!

It’s not actually politics.. the government just learned how to appreciate the good things the INC had done.. not only in the spiritual nor political aspect but in many ways… you just saw it merely political because we usually vote in bloc. the INC has what we call TRUE UNITY.. which you cannot see in other organizations.. Just wait for the big event that will happen on July 27..

special non working or working doesnt make any sense to me bec wala naman ako work hehehe. kidding aside, kahit may work ako go ako syempre sa anniversary pakialam ko sa mga boss natin na yumayaman dahil lang din sa atin di nila maibibigay ang kasiyahan na mararanasan natin sa araw na iyon. Hi to everyone, I am from Davao. Happy 95th Anniversary. Sad to note that some of the guys who are not a member of INC had issues concerning that July 27…. Bakit daw me ganun? As for my understanding, the government has seen the good things that we have done. Salute to that. One more thing, when the government declares a Holiday during the end of Ramadan, why they did not give any speculations regarding to that matter? We did not even claim or give any speculations regarding their 2-days Holiday? lol

I have nothing against INC, I respect other people’s belief and faith, but GMA declaring a NATIONAL NON-WORKING HOLIDAY???! To give appreciation and acknowledgement to such sects with accomplishments and contribution to our country is a noble thing to do, but declaring such national holiday for me IS NOT appropriate… To dw9_hvw, Ramadan is given to the Muslim because one thing they make up almost 5% of our population not comparable to INC(in all due respect) comprises only of almost 2.8%, and Ramadan is celebrated not only here but worldwide, this is also granted to the Muslim in connection with Peace between Christians. To Adrienne Renee Naron and joshrenalds2009, that’s the main point! INC is voting by BLOC that’s why politician aspire to have your UNITY… Same as always, traditional Politician are doing their best gain Political power… That is why, for centuries, Politics and Religion are being apart from each other…

do you think because muslims make up 5% of our population,they are the only one deserve to be granted a holiday during their RAMADAN?And FYI this celebration is not only here in the Philippines but also a world wide celebration of all our brethren. this is our 95 founding anniversary since it was started here in the Philippines on 1914.You should be proud your fellow Filipino reached this big success it only means that god is with us and his words shine through our success. By the way you are cordially invited on that celebration we have GEM(GRAND EVANGELICAL MISSION) on that day an that is world wide rain or shine a bible exposition …..then the celebration.My friend in abu dhabi was invited by one of our brethren their so as I invite you.

Thats OK whether its a Working or non-working holiday.
About the population issue, INC has yet to reveal the TRUE number. The population count as of today is not vaild, some are saying 5M, some say 2M, some say 1M, 10M, or even 500K. Those numbers are just speculations.
