I’ve recently played Social City on Facebook. It’s a new game on Facebook made by Playdom. It is still in beta, so there are still some glitch on the game.
Social City is like Sim City where you create and manage your own city. You start with a small city and as you level up, you get more items you can build. You get bonus items when you complete some action like becoming a fan of their Facebook page, subscribing and giving your e-mail address and so on.
You gain experience points and money from contracts from your factories. Factories are like your cooking stove in Cafe World. You get contracts and accomplish them in a specified period of time. Some contracts can be accomplished in 20 minutes while some can be accomplished in hours and even days. The trick is to get the 20-minute contracts while you are still beginning. Then, you select the long contracts depending on your plan on when to go online next time. If you plan to go online after 1 day, select the 24-hour contracts.
Your population grows from the residential units you build. Some cheap cottages can give you 10 people every 8 minutes while a log hut can give you 75 people every 6 hours. Just choose your residential units wisely because overpopulation can also be a problem.
Build leisure items such as parks, restaurants and coffee shops. Leisure items kept the population happy making your whole city happy.
I still have more things to discover on Social City. I just want to ask people from Playdom to give us the ability to rotate the building because it’s ugly if your building is not facing the street, right?

I have a glitch in this game where the girl comes up and will not let me do anything on this game. Have been trying for 24 hrs to get on because this game is great. My son got on his face book acct on my web browser and it worked fine but I can’t get on using the same browser and same computer. Will they get it right or do I just need to go back to playing the old crappy games?

i just installed windows 7 on my computer. my social city takes a long time to load. it will work and stop every 5 seconds. do i need to install any plug-ins for it to work better? just asking.

I bought the social city automation tool for my son and seems his problems with the game stopped. It lets you get lots of coins and it plays the game in the background.

Social City is the 3rd largest game after Mafia Wars and Farmville that have been played by gamers in Facebook.
With Playdom gettting million dollars of funds , they will get bigger and eventually surpassed Zynga

I don’t know about where you live, but my city is a mess. Potholes dot every major thoroughfare, water costs are twice as high as in neighboring cities, and metered parking downtown is outrageous. I’ve always said that if I were mayor I could turn this place around. And while I may not have had the chance in the real world, Social City is letting me be the mayor I’ve always dreamed of.
