“Briefly Unavailable For Scheduled Maintenance” Stuck Solution

If you are using WordPress on your blogs or websites and you got stuck on this error: “Briefly Unavailable For Scheduled Maintenance,” don’t worry, relax, as I have the solution to your problem. 😉

This error usually occurs when you are upgrading something (a plugin or a theme) on your WordPress Dashboard and you suddenly navigate away from the active page and the process of upgrading did not push thru. You suddenly got stuck with this error and you cannot do anything. Going anywhere on your blog always show the same message, “Briefly Unavailable For Scheduled Maintenance.”

So, what to do? The solution is actually easy, but you must have access to your blog or website’s root directory via FTP or SSH. Just access your site thru FTP or SSH, look for .maintenance file and delete it. If you can’t find it, it might be hidden. Just look for your FTP Client’s option to “Show Hidden Files”. When you see it, delete it.

After deleting it, check your blog if it still shows that message. I’m sure, it is now back to normal. So, grab a coffee and celebrate. Tell your readers you are “Briefly Unavailable For Scheduled Coffee Break.” 🙂 That’s all for now!
