But just 5 months after the release of the 2011 Honda Odyssey, Honda has announced that it will begin recalling units starting April of this year because of a windshield wiper defect. Apparently, over the winter season, windshield wipers of some units have become frozen to the windshield which separated the rods from their motors. The first reports of this defect came in from Canada and the United States in November last year.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has noted that this is caused by the “insufficient stiffness of the rod” and that this may lead to decreased driver visibility in bad weather conditions. The agency has posted that 33,341 units of the 2011 Honda Odyssey will be recalled by mid-April.

The world first caught sight of the 2011 Hyundai Elantra at the Busan International Motor Show held in South Korea in April 2010 where it carried the name Avante. It was later on introduced to the US market in the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show held in November last year.

The new Hyundai Elantra sports the “Wind Craft” design that Hyundai is starting to get famous for. It will be powered by a 1.6L engine which uses the gamma gasoline direct injection technology coupled with six-speed automatic transmission and front wheel drive system.

The Elantra is considered as Hyundai’s best-selling car in the world with sales reaching six million units since it was first released in 1990.

The classic Mini is considered a British icon, much as how the Volkswagen Beetle is to Germany. Since its creation in 1959, the Mini has undergone countless changes and one of these is the introduction of its first 4-door, all wheel drive (AWD) crossover., the 2011 Mini Cooper Countryman.

So, what should you expect with this new addition to the Mini family?

First off, the 2011 Mini Cooper Countryman is the largest being 15.7 inches longer than the Mini Cooper. A three-place bench seat may be ordered at no extra cost to make the backs seats accommodate three passengers instead of the usual two. It is powered with a 1.6 L 4-cylinder engine which guarantees a turbo-charged drive.

United British Automobiles, Inc., Mini Cooper importer in the Philippines, announced that they will be offering the Mini Cooper Countryman this 2011.

However, these amazing voice control features are only available for Ford Fiesta Sport models which go for as much as Php 800k++ here in the Philippines.

It’s a Chery QQ car. According to Wikipedia, it is one of the cheapest cars in the Philippines today. The price was said to be about Php 349,000 or roughly $8,000. I haven’t confirmed this price though.

So, let me begin by showing you this awesome concept car presented at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show: the Citroen Survolt.

The Citroen Survolt was said to be capable of accelarating from 0 to 62 mph in less than 5 seconds. It is powered 100% by electricity making it environment-friendly. Its maximum speed is 162 mph, according to Citroen.

It is powered by battery alone, making it a a zero-emissions vehicle. Citroën claims that the batteries provide a range of 200 km (124 miles), according to Wikipedia.
