The blogger is insinuating that I am telling newbies to optimize for localized keywords ONLY so that I can enjoy less competition on the international keywords.

First, I did not advise newbies to optimize ONLY for those localized keywords, did I? I am advising newbies to ADD local SEO to one of their focus, not to focus on it alone. Why? Because it’s much easier to gain rankings on it. Less competition, the higher chances of ranking even if you are competing with some established blogs already.

Second, I am actually giving myself more competition by sharing it. Instead of only me enjoying traffic from local keywords, I shared it with the newbies so that they can join me. Do you think, they will avoid international keywords after reading it? Of course not. They will just add the local keywords to their arsenal of keywords to optimize.

Now, he says that it’s not advisable to optimize on localized keywords because:

“… even if you will try to use highly localized keywords, the tendency is that you will still be eclipsed by the other blogsites, like his own, and you will not be able to rank high. Remember that Google also considers the authority factor of the site which may be a combination of the blog’s age, link backs and overall number of contents. So how will you fare? Tell me.”

Now, that’s pessimistic thinking. Localized keywords have less competition. You might be outranked by other established blogsites, but it’s easier to reach the first page on localized keywords because you are competing for a less number of established blogs. Yeah, you will always fail if that is your mindset. But if you are really determined to succeed, you can beat the s#*t out of those established bloggers too! However, if you think you can’t beat established bloggers against localized keywords, what more on international keywords? Tell me, what keyword should newbies optimize then if you think they can’t rank on an easier localized keywords?

If you think I am malicious on that post, think again. I give SEO advise on this blog from time to time to help people, not to take advantage of them. I could have kept all the knowledge to myself and enjoy it alone. But I want to help others. I want to change lives in my own way. I’m sure, a lot of bloggers are now enjoying monthly Adsense income because of the things they learned from this blog. I just felt sad that despite all those things I did, some people think I’m fooling them on my advise.

So little boy Johnny believed his dad. He studied well. Forgets playing with other kids just to have good grades. After a year of studying hard, he got good grades. He expected so much of the increase in allowance. He was so excited. After all, he worked hard to get those grades to have an increase.

Then, dad came. He said,”Very good Johnny! Here’s my promise to you. You now get a 1-peso increase in allowance for this year! Congratulations!”

WTF. Right? Yeah, really. WTF. Juice mommy.

I’ve ranted about this on Plurk, but I think it’s better to rant about it here. At least, I make money while ranting.

Early this morning, I was almost late at the office because of an uneducated driver who parked on our driveway. We have to look for the driver and ask him to move his car out of the way.

Yeah, there’s no sign board on the gate that says, “Don’t block the driveway.” But do you really need a sign board? It’s a driveway, always assume that you are not allowed to park there unless you ask for permission. What if there’s an emergency where every second counts?

It may not be a written rule. But for a decent driver, parking on a driveway is a no-no unless it’s your own.

I guess, I have to put this sign board from now on.

I’ve already signed up for the Marlboro Red List. And up to now, all I can see everytime I log in there is the picture of Michael Buhay and his Ducati. No traces of Eraserheads ticket whatsoever.

What are the chances that we can get the tickets? Are they going to give the tickets to all Red Listers or are they just going to raffle it off? Still, this is unclear.

To those people asking me if I already have a ticket, the answer is obvious, isn’t it? I’m still waiting for that Marlboro Red List update while listening to this old Eraserheads radio interview. ( I got the link from the Circus Yahoogroups.)

It took me 5 follow-up calls at different dates before they made the merger. The agent always tells me that they already made a follow-up on it, and they will just put another note that I called again. I cannot blame the agent, they are just answering the calls and making requests to people at the backend side to do the job. The problem is it seems that the people at the other end are not reading the requests despite the numerous follow up that I made.

Damn, it took more than a month before my glass went full. So,when I called today, I told the agent that I don’t want them telling me that they are just going to make a follow-up note again. One month has passed, I already made numerous calls and the people on the other side that has to do the merger are either ignoring my requests or just really plain lazy. I told them to transfer my call to their supervisor.

So, the supervisor took my call. The supervisor put me on hold and studied my case, and when she got back, she was very apologetic. She then put me on hold and called those people that are ignoring my requests.

Finally, after being put on hold for quite some time, the supervisor told me that she’ll just call me because she’s putting me on hold for a long time already. I gave her my cellphone number and waited. After an hour or so, she called me and told me that they are already processing it. At 5:00PM today, she called me again and informed me that it is already done. Finally.

The supervisor did a good job. If only I’ve requested talking to a supervisor on my second follow up call then, it would not have took a month.

But really, do I really need to request to talk to a supervisor before I could get my request done? That’s simply BS. People should do their task given to them. With 5 follow-up calls, I can’t find a decent reason why they can’t merge it. Why do they need a supervisor to follow it up for them to do their job? What are they doing the whole month I’m calling and following it up? Watching Wowowee?

Ok, enough of my ramblings. Let’s talk about something else. I’m still at lost with my Paypal withdrawal. Banco De Oro’s (BDO) bank code is not listed on Pinoymoneytalk’s list of bank codes. A little googling sent me to Alfredo Palconit’s post about BDO bank code. He got his own and said that the bank codes might be different on each BDO branch. I’ll just wait if he’s succesful with his withdrawal. Sayang din ang 250 kung palpak. Hehehe. Anyway, I already sent a separate e-mail to BDO customer service via their online e-banking asking them for my bank code. I’ll just wait for their reply.

First. Our flight was delayed. Before, they boast of being on time, even on TV commercials. Now, I don’t see that TV commercial anymore, and now I know why. Our flight to Davao was 1-hour delayed.

Second. Before, they gave free snacks during the flight. The first time I went to Davao, they have some free snacks and drinks. Then, the next time I went there, no more free snacks, just a free bottle of C2. And now? No snacks. No drinks. Instead, they will sell overpriced snacks and sandwiches to you. Cebu Pacific, thank you very much!

Third. This is the worst. Last January 1, on our scheduled flight back to Manila, our flight was cancelled! Yup, it was cancelled. They said it was due to aircraft problem. No details given. So, they scheduled us on the next flight available 3 hours after the cancelled flight. Good thing there are still vacant seats there. And me and my girlfriend were seated far away from each other on that next flight. What can we do, we were just paningit. Imagine, we were there at the airport by 12:30PM for a 2:30PM flight and we boarded the aircraft at 6:10PM. And as a paconsuelo de matalino, all passengers on the cancelled flight were given free non-transferrable domestic one-way flight vouchers. Cebu Pacific, thank you very much!

That is not the last time that I’m travelling to Davao. There’ll be more in the near future. And with the experience that I encountered last time, I think, Cebu Pacific will be on my avoid-this-airline list.

I actually sink into a situation similar to this guy after inserting a Memory Stick Pro Duo in it! I just inserted it, because it claims to be a 5-in-1 card reader. Only then I realized that it will not fit exactly, and the memory got stuck inside the slot. Used some pins and around 30 minutes of my time and a liter of perspiration to finally take it out. Ang hirap kayang sungkitin nung nastuck na memory card dun sa loob.

Suggestion: they should call the USB port as ALL-in-1 card reader! Why? There’s no difference. You only need a USB adaptor and the USB can read any types of card, whether it’s microSD, miniSD, Memory Stick Pro Duo or whatever.

See, we left Ortigas at 4:30 PM and we reached the overpass on Alabang at 7:30 PM! 3 hours from Ortigas to Alabang! That’s how heavy the traffic was. What caused the traffic? I don’t know. I really don’t know. Maybe, it’s the heavy rain with added construction site along the SLEX (South Luzon Expressway) and maybe some freaking car accident. I did not see the accident though.

This is one of the times in my life where I started thinking on investing on a helicopter, or a flying car in the future, or how about a flying broomstick (feeling Harry Potterish, hehe) ?

How about having a TV in my car?
