Time Travel Ban in Chinese Television

You’ll not be able to watch any time travel related tv shows in China nowadays. Because their government banned it. Kinda weird, right?

Well, they said that time travel plots disrespects history. They said that it lacks positive thoughts and meaning. What can we do, it’s their country. As long as they don’t ban time travel plots here in Philippines, I am not affected. Hehe.

Just another thoughtless post just to keep this blog alive. Anyway, you can read more about this ban on my post in Batangas Today here.

Zipline Ride at La Virginia Resort

It was my first time to ride a zipline last April 7. It was fun and I enjoyed it a lot. It only took about 10 seconds, moving from one point to another, at a speed of I don’t know. All I know is that I felt like flying. So I did the Superman pose.

Zipline ride is available at La Virginia Resort, Barangay Manggahan, Mataas Na Kahoy, Lipa City. It costs P200 per head, and if you want a souvenir picture, you need to pay additional P100, and additional P20 if you want to have a copy of the picture on CD.

Batangas Balisong Keychains

If you are going to visit Batangas, don’t forget to drop by Brgy. Balisong in Lemery, Batangas. There, you’ll find different kinds of balisong (butterfly knife) in varying shapes and sizes.

Since it was my last day at work yesterday, I’ve decided to give some Batangas balisong key chains to some of my officemates. Me and my wife went to Brgy. Balisong to buy those keychains there.

Kuya Ed Restaurant: Eat All You Can At 99 Pesos

Everytime I visit Davao, I always visit Kuya Ed Restaurant among others. Why? The title says it all. It’s an eat-all-you-can restaurant for only 99 pesos!

Yeah. At first I can’t believe it. Eat-all-you-can for 99 pesos? Yeah, it’s true. For only 99 pesos, you can eat all you can. And the food aren’t second class. With a wide variety of Filipino food choices from pork, beef, sea foods, fruits and desserts, your 99 pesos will surely go a long way.

You only pay 99 pesos for the food. For the drinks, bottomless iced-tea only costs 36 pesos. So, for only 135 pesos, you have unlimited supply of food and iced-tea already! Kain hanggang maglungar. Haha! They even give children with 3.5 feet height below a 50% discount!

Next time you visit Davao, try Kuya Ed Restaurant. They are located at A. Pichon St., Davao City. Just ride a taxi and tell the driver you want to eat at “Kuya Ed’s”, the driver already knew it.

I’d Rather Get Punched In The Face Than Let My Dog Travel With Cebu Pacific

Yeah, getting punched in the face is better than letting Ganda travel with Cebu Pacific.

Why? This happened 3 years ago. A healthy dog that survived travelling 12 hours from New York to Philippines died on board Cebu Pacific travelling from Manila to Davao! For less than 2 hours, the dog died from hyperthermia or heatstroke. Read the whole story here.

It happened before. It might happen again. We don’t want to risk losing Ganda. Since we already booked our flight with Cebu Pacific, we’ll just leave Ganda in Batangas instead of bringing her to Davao. Maybe, next time, we’ll travel by PAL.

Travel Tips From Manila To Batangas

It’s summer once again, which means that a lot of people are travelling to Batangas to visit the beach resorts out there. If you are one of those people, here are some of my travel tips.

Travel early. To avoid heavy traffic, you must travel early. Lots of people, as in lots of people, are travelling to Batangas these days, so, you must travel at early morning to avoid the traffic rush.
Use the Skyway. If you can’t travel early, use the Skyway. If you reach Osmena highway at around 9:00AM, don’t hesitate to use the Skyway. You’ll save at least 1 hour of your travel time.
Gas up in Manila. Because the price of gasoline in Batangas is Php 4.xx higher compared to Manila prices per liter. You’ll save a lot of money when you gas up in Manila. Or you can gas up on the gasoline stations at SLEX, their prices are the same in Manila. But don’t ever plan to gas up in Batangas!
Prepare an exact toll fee. Because there’s an exact amount toll fee lane on SLEX toll gate that is way faster than the ordinary lane. For class 1 vehicle, if you are from Manila and you used the Skyway, you’ll pay Php 85 when entering the Skyway and you’ll pay another Php 57.00 on SLEX tollgate. If you did not use the Skyway, you’ll pay Php 87.00 on SLEX tollgate.
Use the STAR tollway. It’s faster there. Travel time from Santo Tomas to Batangas City only takes 30 minutes, compared to 1.5 to 2 hours if not using it. Toll fee is Php 55.00 for class 1 vehicles. Note that there is no gasoline station on STAR tollway southbound lane. Make sure you have enough gas before entering it.

Zoobic Safari Experience

Last January 1, we went to Olongapo City. We stayed at Ninong/Uncle Renato’s house for 3 days and 2 nights. And as part of our trip, we visited the Zoobic Safari at Subic Bay Freeport’s Forest Adventure Park last January 2.

Entrance fee is Php 395 per person. Kids with height under 4 feet are free of charge, and senior citizens have the usual 20% discount.

We reached the place around 10:30AM, roam around the zoo guided by a tour guide for more than an hour. Since it’s a zoo, we saw different kind of animals: monkeys, rodents, birds, snakes, giraffes, ostrich, tigers and many more.

We also entered the Tiger Safari. Inside the Tiger Safari, the tigers roam around while visitors like us are inside the jeepney cage. Yeah, the tigers will come and take a look at the people inside the jeepney if they want.
