Julia Campbell Found Dead

US Peace Corps volunteer Julia Campbell’s latest blog entry is entitled “Buhay Pa Tayo” which translates to “We Are Still Alive.” Ironically, she was found dead yesterday in the mountainous area in northern Luzon eight days after being reported missing. Investigation is still going on, there is already a witness and Raul Gonzales said that “robbery appears to be the most likely motive.”

After this incident, who would want to see the great Banaue Rice Terraces now? Tourists scheduled to see it will probably cancel their flights. I foresee that peso is plunging down again against the dollar. Damn robbers!

Lastly, I send my deepest sympathy and condolonce to the family of Julia Campbell.

  1. sigh.. we saw her before she went to that trip roaming around here in legazpi… she even asked how much the balloons i was selling in our shop. she was to bring it to an evacuation center for the typhoon reming victims (kids). it’s a sad fate but her mistake was going to batad (banaue) alone.

i agree. this will affect our visitors and the economy.

thanks for dropping by my blog. 😀

  2. This is sad news. Napakamatulungin pa naman ng taong ito… Tsk tsk. Nakakalungkot…
