My boss gave me a new modem. It’s a Conexant Modem, with full duplex speaker support. I need this modem for the application we are currently developing. However, we got one problem. The driver on the CD only works on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT and Windows 2000. There is no driver for Windows XP.
Installing the card, Windows XP automatically detected it and installed a SoftV90 Speakerphone Modem Driver. I found out that this is a generic driver for voice modem, and unfortunately, the modem didn’t work with that driver. So, I googled for a new driver for that Conexant Rs56/SP PCI Modem for Windows XP. I found one on driverguide.com. Unfortunately, after installing the driver, the modem did not work as well. I don’t know if the modem board has defects or the driver I downloaded on driverguide.com is fake.
Anyway, if anyone of you has this kind of problem and were able to solve it, can you give me the solution? Where can I download a real Windows XP driver for this modem?
While there’s no solution yet to this problem, we’re going to buy another modem.
