My Western Union Experience

I went to MV Lhuiller, Bauan, Batangas Branch to receive my Adsense earnings via Western Union this morning. I brought 2 government-issued IDs together with the copy of Money Transfer Control Number(MTCN), the exact amount I’m receiving and Google’s office address. I selected that branch because they have a banner in front of their office boasting that they have a US dollar payout. Hehe.

I did not get any trouble getting the money. They asked me to fill-up a Receive Money form. Submitted it with my 2 IDs after filling it up with all the information. Then they asked me if I want the money to be in dollars or in pesos. The exchange rate is P43.75 = $1. I told them I want the $200 in dollars and the remaining amount in pesos. They agreed.

I got the money and left the place immediately. Deposited $200 in my BDO dollar account and the peso amount in my wallet as an allowance for this month. I treated my parents and nieces for a lunch on SM Batangas afterwards.

Just a note. Western Union is strict on their ID requirements. It should be 2 government-issued IDs, they will not entertain you if you only have 1 ID. I think, that’s good. I feel secured that my money will not be taken by anyone. I think, it’s hard to fake a government-issued ID.

By the way, I received the money as it is. No service charge or hidden charges whatsoever. A good improvement, way better than the DHL secured delivery which charges $24.

That’s all!

P.S. Watch out for my next mini SEO contest next week. I’m still contemplating on how to do this and which keyword to hijack. 🙂 Thanks for all your suggestions.

  1. Congrats on your Western Union withdrawal, Marghil! Just like yours, my withdrawal yesterday was fast and smooth. For me, WU is currently the best Adsense payment method.

I posted my experience and a list of accepted government-issued IDs here: Successfully got my Adsense earnings from Western Union

  2. Congrats Marghil. As for me, I’m still waiting for my adsense to reach the limit withdrawal. 🙂 Been itching to experience my Adsense and WU withdrawal. 🙂

  3. Nice Marghil. I’ll be sure to try that out myself when my adsense reaches the minimum payout. hehe.

By the way, you specified they are strict with the two government issued ID. What kind of IDs did you use? I only have my student ID and passport. Wla pa kasi akong drivers license. Under processing pa.

  4. Oh my.. what if your still a student and don’t have a government issued ID :(.. the only ID you have is a school ID.. you can’t claim your dollars from adsense anymore 🙁 too bad.. hehe

  5. wow congrats!!!

it’s still a long wait for me since I only have $4 on my account hehe

Is it required to use government issued ids? i only have 1 gov issued id and one company id.. 🙁

  6. Kuya , long time no see , wow , lots of income huh?~
    hehe , congratulations.

  7. Congrats pre! Uso ngayon ang western union adsense payout entries ah. =)

So magkano lahat ang kinita mo? 😉 Hehehe.

Regarding IDs, I only had one valid ID but they obliged me anyway. For extra security, they also ask how much you’re expecting to receive. Someone pretending to be you wouldn’t have access to that information, unless you go around telling everyone how rich you are. 😛
