My Western Union Experience

I went to MV Lhuiller, Bauan, Batangas Branch to receive my Adsense earnings via Western Union this morning. I brought 2 government-issued IDs together with the copy of Money Transfer Control Number(MTCN), the exact amount I’m receiving and Google’s office address. I selected that branch because they have a banner in front of their office boasting that they have a US dollar payout. Hehe.

I did not get any trouble getting the money. They asked me to fill-up a Receive Money form. Submitted it with my 2 IDs after filling it up with all the information. Then they asked me if I want the money to be in dollars or in pesos. The exchange rate is P43.75 = $1. I told them I want the $200 in dollars and the remaining amount in pesos. They agreed.

I got the money and left the place immediately. Deposited $200 in my BDO dollar account and the peso amount in my wallet as an allowance for this month. I treated my parents and nieces for a lunch on SM Batangas afterwards.

Just a note. Western Union is strict on their ID requirements. It should be 2 government-issued IDs, they will not entertain you if you only have 1 ID. I think, that’s good. I feel secured that my money will not be taken by anyone. I think, it’s hard to fake a government-issued ID.

By the way, I received the money as it is. No service charge or hidden charges whatsoever. A good improvement, way better than the DHL secured delivery which charges $24.

That’s all!

P.S. Watch out for my next mini SEO contest next week. I’m still contemplating on how to do this and which keyword to hijack. 🙂 Thanks for all your suggestions.
