Hating Kapatid Review

It stars Judy Ann Santos and Sarah Geronimo. I’ve seen movies of these two and I expected more when they are combined in a movie. But I was disappointed. It seems that they are hired just to put big names in the movie.

I can’t believe I paid to watch commercials! Yeah, they put a little story in it, to make it a movie. But the movie looks like a bunch of commercials rolled into one, sprinkled with a little story to make it a movie. Imagine, how many products did they advertise? Cebuana Lhuiller, Jollibee Chicken Barbecue, Charmee, Globe Tattoo, Selecta Milk, Extreme Magic Sing, Video City, Island Cove, Belo Essentials Facial Wash. They did not just put them in the background. It was an in-your-face advertising. It’s not funny. Really.

With that much advertising, they should have made this movie for free. I’m sure, they will still profit from it.

Recommendation? Don’t watch it! Just stay at home and watch commercials. Then watch Maala-ala Mo Kaya. It’s a better experience than watching this crap.

  1. Gee, I am surprised that you still watch local films…yaaaak!

Kidding aside, I am a big fan of local and foreign films since I was young.

The truth is, I have not watched any movie for years. Di dahil sa kuripot ako, but I felt the standards of films these days are crap. Blame it on piracy and on the free film downloading…

Anyway, I miss the VIVA Films which I think are high quality ones. I miss Lino Brocka, Ismael Bernal, Eddie Garcia (yes, my super idol)….

And of course, my favorite Maryo J. delos Reyes…

Ang hirap kasi ng buhay now, minsan di mo rin sila masisi na magtinda na lang…

  2. so true. I was irritated din by that movie. The scripts are so written to incorporate the product’s name. Like “Ay! Naiwan ko pala yung Charmee ko.” Such a cheap movie. I was expecting more from Judy Ann and Sarah considering they did a lot of cute and great films in the past.
