Smart Bro Sucks!

Not really. I have a Smart Bro connection here in our boarding house now, and contrary to popular belief, it’s fast! Maybe because there is not enough Smart Bro subscriber in our area yet to slow down our connection.

So, if you are living in Bangkal, Makati, don’t ever think of getting a Smart Bro subscription. It will make my Smart Bro connection slow because we will share the bandwidth, right? Stay away from Smart Bro! *evil grin* It sucks! It sucks all the downloadables so fast!

Again, don’t ever think of sharing my bandwidth with you. Get a Globe Visibility or Globe Broadband instead! Hahaha!

  3. Warning for those who want to get smart bro, its a rip-off!!! Imagine getting a download speed of 400 bytes per second yes bytes!!! not even 1 kilobyte, that is if there is connectivity. So i complained to smart and they sent a tech to fix the problem and the result 3kbs average download speed. Imagine trying to download a file size of 25mb and it will take hours!!! so for those of you that want to get Smart Bro it a lot of brouhaha, total rip off, and they have the gall to advertise and promote their product all over the province!!! Ang kapal ng mga mukha!!!

    Last week, I tried to understand the poor connection due to the typhoon. But the weather this week is fine. I think they dont have any excuses now.

  15. Smart Bro sucks, totally! I live in Bangkal and we started our connection about 2 years ago. After 2 months, that’s when we started having problems which we are still experiencing right now. We have called their Technical Support countless times and their staff have visited us at least 5 times already. They give CRAPPY service. Nowadays, our connection only lasts about 5-15 mins. then we get disconnected over and over again. The only reason why we FORCE ourselves with this crappy service is that my dad is very stingy. Can anyone please recommend a better connection (with reasonable rates) than what Smart Bro is providing? This connection always tries my patience and it’s near to pulling out my last string. HELP me out of my misery, give me a better connection.

    They managed to reconfigure the buildings router and all tenants were offline.
    The Tech Support wasted half my day running completely useles tests trying to proof that our LAN is the source of the problem. They can’t handle anything else than Windows and the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing…

    by d way anu ba ang speed ng net nio? akin kasi minimum of 216kbps and net…at download spd ko 30-40kbps…
    i think its not bad…but for me d parin pasado sa standardz ko fav ko kc magdownload using torrentz…and its really really slow…inaabot ng 3 days ang download ko…

    btw ok ba ang globelines????? ganoh kabilis ang download speed

  19. dito sa amin,,,we(subscribers) belong to a remote AP,,ibig sabihin,malayo kami sa base station(ap cluster),,so they put up a sm(which recieves the bandwith from the base station,about 10 kms away),,then feed it to an AP(accesspoint),,then in turn transmit it to the subscribers(about 40+ subscribers),,,,the problem is that the sm(canopy lite) on the tower is the same as the sm(canopy lite) of its subscribers which has a max throughput of only 1 mbps..500 downlink and 500 uplink…..ibig sabihin 500 kbps na downlink ang pinaghahatian namin mga subscribers…500/40=12.5 kbps…wow!!!!WE BEEN HAD!!!!

  24. I can’t agree with you more. Smart BRO sucks a LOT. During our first weeks with smart bro, I have a fast connection and I was happy since I can download 99 kb/s and upload at 35 kb/s. It wasn’t long when our connection started slowing down. I’m a smart bro subscriber a more than 1 year now. From that fast connection, it dropped to 3 kb/s (YES, 3!!!) download and 315 BYTES!!!/s upload. Now I can barely download a software and upload manga. *curses smart bro*
    The worst decision you’ll ever have is to subscribe to their company, CRAPPY service is the only thing they offer.

  25. Oh yeah… you know that little icon thing in the lower right corner of your screen? Yes, the one with 2 monitors and when you drag on it says Local Area Connection (LAN). That thing says I have a 100.0 Mbs right after we subscribed to smartbro. But NOW, I got 10.0 Mbs. What a rip-off!

For those asking about GLOBE DSL… my monthly bill is P990 with landline (yes DSL + Landline).. and my suppose download speed is 385kbps but, my daily average speed is always above 512kbps and my download is about 55kbps/sec and higher.. it doesnt go lower than this…(Globe said all P990 plans are now automatically upgraded to 512kbps higner at offpeak) i got friends from around the area marami kaming naka Globe.. pero lahat kami maganda ang service.. (San Juan) and if ever magloko or mawalan ng connection… its true 24hrs or less nung nawala connection ko i called at about 12:30noon time at about 2pm kumakatok ng sa gate ko yung onsite tech rep. nita.. hooooooray for Globe… so bago kayo mag decide magpalagay ng SmartBro like some of my friends… BE SMART… THINK 100 TIMES…. goodluck..   41. I’ve tried surfing the net para lang basahin mga post about positive and negative feedbacks, after reading all the forums marami ang negative feedbacks. Napansin ko na lahat ng internet provider ay may mga nag ko-complain. Mapa smart bro, globe, pldt or bayantel etc etc. lahat naman may nag ko-complain halos di nag kakalayo ang mga complain (poor connection, na disconnect, mabagal etc etc). So nagpakabit ako ng smartbro sa house then globe sa workplace studio ko (few blocks away lang) kinakabahan nga ako baka di sulit ung ibabayad ko sa mga ito dahil ung mga nabasa kong negative. Pero so far ok naman pareho. Halos mag 2months ko na ginagamit at ok naman average naman ung speed. sa smart bro 20kbps – 60kbps umaabot ung speed using torrent. sa globe halos ganun din. ung smart bro ko nde naman sya na di DC. Siguro chambahan din nag kataon na maganda ung connection ko or maybe nakaka tulong ung router ko kasi may booster un. So what im trying to say is try to read the forums pati sa ibang provider then tsaka kayo mag isip.

  47. walang silbi ang smartbro samin. lugi kami talaga. ang hina hina talaga. Nagreklamo ako sa kanila pero sabi nila wala namang problema dahil ang lapit lapit lang ng bahay namin sa PLDT(signal). Sabi nila may virus yung computer namin. Eh ga*o pala sila eh! 1week palang yung computer namin nung nagreklamo ako at reformatted pa. Talagang pinoprotektahan lang nila ang walang silbing internet nila. imbis na 384kbps, 100 nalang. hahay nako

  48. i live in fort bonifacio makati and we use my dsl at home. my dsl is heaven sent: its fast and fast and fast. but whenever it rains, the connection, even the phone line, goes dead. but we love it all the same.
    i use a prepaid smart bro for my laptop whenever i have to go somewhere and need to use the net. so far smart bro is decent, putol-putol lang that’s all. and whenever there’s a wifi hotspot around where im working, i prefer using that over smart bro because it’s faster for downloads and stuff. come to think of it, i’ve only been subscribed to smart bro prepaid for a couple of months…i wonder if the connection would also go bad…?

Haha, it seems that I’m not the only one who is not satisfied of their service, their service is alright but the main problem here is their speed, i only get a maximum speed of 40kbps but that’s very rare, the average speed of mine is 18-25 kbps but that’s it, and that’s why i’ve had it with the Smart Bro and decided to transfer to pldt 999 xperience and it is super fast, (my 2 year contract has ended). I’d recommend Smart to those who just want to surf but not i repeat NOT for downloading purposes.

Buti na lang di ako nagpakabit nang SMART Broken kasi yun ang first choice nung pumunta ako sa megamall 5th floor then i try pldt kasi need kasi namin may bundle na landline for business growth and may landline kami na unlimited. nag-apply ako march 26 nakabitan ako 1 month later that april 26 excactly then so far i have no problem at all. yung una XP pa gamit ko eto ginawa ko, di ko pa kasi alam yun technology or intel na to but guys it really helps a lot i am a tech genius. eto gawin nyo para di kayo dc palagi.

    1. go to bios yung pagka start nang computer then yung may processor details, harddisk, then press del or f8 basta makapasok ka sa menu.

    2. then go to your integrated devices yung settings nang LAN.

Then after my contract ends after a year, I was tempted to get another service from Smart because of the promise of 2mbps and coming up with a good advertisement promo.. with the Smart Bro Share it router.. And now for 3months that I’m using Share it router.. Oh my god.. bullshit… my speed is only 15 the higher is 40… I called up Customer service for 100 times for 3months alrdy.. Until now no solutions… Shit… Because of my loyalty with Smart, i’m being ripped with their really poor service.. Ito ang napala ko… Kung meron dapat patayin at i-massacre ng Ampatuan sa Mindanao.. dapat UNG may-ari ng SMART COMM.. I’m bound with a two year contract… i got no choice… just like putting myself into jail by using this shit service… KASUMPA-SUMPA…

Mga bro i have a big problem din jan sa smartbro na yan, may internet cafe ako, kc ako ay naka 2 years contract na last dec 2009 tapos may nag sales sa akin na free 3 in 1 hp printer kapag inavail ko un 2 years retention ng contract, so napapayag ako ni sister ayon dumating nga un printer ang matindi pa nyan ay nang maubusan ng ink un cartridge at dinala ko sa mga refilling sabi ko painstallan ko ng CIS o continous ink at sabi nila hndi daw nagkakaege don un CIS kc nag eerror daw, wala na pala silbi eto 3 in 1 na eto, tapos by last march 2010 nagclosed na shop ko kc mahina na binenta ko na mga units ng bargain, ang inalala ko ay un 2 years na naavail ko sa smartbro, may mga dumating na bill sunod sunod pati un galing sa law department daw at may computation na aabot daw ng 34k un babayaran ko so hinayaan ko un mga notice na un kc para sa akin ay naloko din ako ng retention contract nila, at ngaun oct 3 2010 ay may dumating uli na sulat galing sa atty de la cruz ng law department at may nakalagay na nmn na computation don na 21k daw ang babayaran ko at kung hndi ko mabayaran within 5 days daw ay mag file daw cla ng case against sa akin, HOW TRUE kaya eto mga bro, pinagtataka ko din sa unang sulat ay 34k ang babayaran ko tapos nitong huli ay 21k nalang parang hukos pokos ah, totoo kaya un cnasabi nilang case at saan makakarating un……..o halimbawa ignore ko nalang, tumigil kaya un sulat galing law dept. o ituloy ko un plan 999 nalang…mga bro hingi ko comment nyo sa naka experience ng ganito eto email ko [email protected] ….tnx cencia na kung mahaba…..
